Floral Duvet Covers

There is a certain age we all reach where we sit around with our brothers and sisters and remember things from our childhood and laugh about them. The horrendous haircuts (which are almost always back in fashion) or the floral duvet covers that mum always insisted we all have.

I am not going to say that floral duvet covers were never in style but I wonder if anyone really knows when that was. It is easier to look back and laugh than it is to try and look at modern duvet covers and ask if our kids will be laughing about them at some point.

Young children shouldn’t be made to suffer with contemporary duvet covers they should have bedding that is the latest fad, whether than be Shrek 4 bedding or even barbie sheets. If you decide to put floral duvet covers on your kids beds it is just asking for them to find an attorney and sue you for cruel and unusual punishment!

So do floral duvet covers have a place in the sales room or should we all be looking for a modern duvet cover for our bedding needs?

In most cases the only people who are ever going to see your choice in bedding are either direct members of the family or overnight guests and we would hope that they have enough class not to comment on your choice on which queen duvet cover set you put on their bed.

If anyone does comment on your choice of bedding then you should remind them that they are guests/not paying rent and that will usually be enough to keep them quiet. Or you could say that your choice of bedding was ironic or kitsch.

If you are looking for something that looks country then there are so many option other than just for the full on flower display. I have seen bedrooms where the floral display really fitted in with the whole look, but that is a rare occurrence and outside of hotels I am not sure many of us have room for to much color in our bedrooms.

If you have a large bedroom which gets lots of light then a duvet cover with bright flowers on will almost certainly work better than a small dark room. I don’t why but a small room with flowery bedding always looks a bit sad to me. Of course it is all personal choice but I do hope you will give it all some serious thought before you go and buy any new duvet covers.

Maybe the next time you see a duvet cover sale you can give the floral duvet covers a miss and find something a bit more modern?
